After completing this course, students should be able to

interact appropriately and communicate effectively, using respectful language based on knowledge of diverse populations
make connections and analyze problems related to current events using knowledge of the historical context of diversity issues
advocate within interpersonal relationships, communities, and organizations, utilizing tools of diversity consciousness and applying knowledge of civil rights and the social ramifications of diversity
For this assignment, students will investigate the current state of immigration in this country. There are already a large number of undocumented individuals in the country. How do you think this issue should be handled? Why? Please address government action, economic action and others as you deem appropriate. Your solution must be reasonable and one that could realistically be implemented. You can select one particular ethnic group or look at all immigrants together.

Prepare a 3-4 page paper for presentation to the class regarding your conclusions. The paper is to be posted on the Discussion titled “Immigration” as well as in the respective Assignment folder by the due date (end of Week 6, 11:59pm EST).

You must support your arguments and recommendations with facts and information obtained from credible sources. For this paper presentation you are required to use at least 2 recent sources (not older than 3 years). Appropriate sources would be articles written by experts in the field, articles found in peer-reviewed journals, published documents from well-known research groups (e.g. Pew Research), and reports published by government agencies (e.g. NIH, CDC). Font = 12 point; Arial or Times New Roman. Line spacing 2.0.
Your paper presentation will be 3-4 pages in length (not counting the bibliography or title page).
Be sure to use appropriate language; do NOT use colloquial language; this is an official written assignment.
Grammar and spelling are important to this assignment.
