As part of this Watercooler Discussion, you need to collect one “golden line” from the Wholey article. A golden line is a sentence or quote in the reading that caught your attention. Specifically, you need to collect your golden line and briefly describe why it caught your interest. Post your golden line and accompanying explanation. Your reflection needs to be 75–100 words in length.

Training for performance-based understand management should include training in strategic planning, in particular, training in processes for learning the expectations and priorities of key stakeholders, documenting those expectations and priorities, and developing a reasonable level of agreement on goals and strategies for achieving goals (Wholey, 1999). This line stood out to me because there was no mention of a manager needing to understand the workers or employees. It seems that if a manager knows and understands goals, plans, and expectations that an understanding of how to motivate and lead others to accomplish a task is as important.
