Review the following video scenarios: discuss the legal implications of each scenario. Use concepts from the lesson,
such as standards of proof and detentions. Discuss what action the police officer can take in each scenario. Discuss
the case law that governs each scenario. Discuss the implications of unreasonable stop or detention. Furthermore,
consider crime control strategies such as NY’s “Stop and Frisk” program. What are the implications of programs or policies
that teeter on the infringement of constitutional protections in the name of safety and maintaining order?

The first video shows a women alling the police because a strager is sitting across the street and tlls the cop she
thinks he was watching to see if anyone was home so he could break in. The cop goes over and askes him what he is doing said all
he wanted was a drink of water he was trying to get home. cops asks the subject to sit a talk to him he says no and starts walking away.
does the officer nhave legal authority to detain the subject? Why or why not> No there is insufficiant info to justify
legal detention

The second video shows police sittin across the street from an apartment complex and a kid rides up on bike and goes behind
the building. The cops get out walk to the back of the building and see the kid jumping a fence into an apartment. cops come around the corner see
him using a screwdriver to open a window.cops asks him what hes doing and he says he locked himself out. asked him the address he said he didn’t know
he just moved there.

The third video shows a man walking up to a building looking inthe window and the walkingback to the back of building ..a lady
walks out of the building and the the man walks back up looks in the window again and then goes again to the back of buiding
and starts to pull a clown mask out. The cop sitting across the street is watching and pulls up and askes what hes doing and
he puts mask back in the back pack and tells the cop he found the backpack. Cop has him put the backpack down and tells him to put his hands behind his back
pats him down and finds a gun in the pocket of hoodie.
Due to the cricumstanes the cop has the right to detain.
