1] In the video we see interviews with several people and companies involved with legal cannabis production and consumption. In light of the definition of industry in the reading, as well as the importance placed in the textbook on “boundaries”, how many different cannabis-related industries are represented in the video?

2] Which of those industries, if any, meet the definition of an “embryonic” industry? Which, if any, meet the definition of a “growth”, “mature” or ‘declining” industry?

3] Which industry’s structure, if any, is most vulnerable to “unfreezing” and/or “re-shaping” via innovation, be that process, product, or technological. Which is least vulnerable?

4] Pick one of the above industries and identify the Porter “forces” that surround it—potential entrants, established competitors, buyers, suppliers, substitutes, and complement. Comment also on the relative power that each group has relative to the focal industry itself.

5] Figure 2.6 describes the role of the macroenvironment and how it influences the industry environment. Pick one industry and identify one or more examples of each of the “forces” in relation to the industry.
