Target length of the paper is approximately 1,000 words. As a guide, this would roughly equal 4 double-spaced pages in 12-point font. Please note that this is a target length only. Slightly longer or slightly shorter papers are fine. Don’t stress too much about hitting the target exactly.
Formatting: your paper should be in the form of a Word document [NOT PDF], double-spaced, with your NAME, “Paper 1,” and DISCUSSION SECTION NUMBER appearing on the first page. There is no need for a title, title page, date, and so on.
This is not a research paper, so there is no need to use formal citation methods. When you want to cite something from class readings, just refer to the author’s last name and the page number where the quote or reference is from, in brackets, for example, [May 424] or [Alexander 33].
The paper should be free of typographical and spelling errors.
The paper should exhibit a clear structure and organization.
There is ONLY ONE procedure for submitting papers for credit: you must email the paper as a Word attachment directly to your Teaching Assistant no later than 9:00 AM on Thursday FEBRUARY 20.
