TASK: Provide a narrative account of the causes of the KOREAN WAR

3. Cite specific evidence from course readings to support the claims you make. NOTE: Your essay may mention or draw instructive comparisons with other wars that we have covered in the course, but your essay should be clearly focused on explaining causes of just ONE war.

In 2018, in a public comment about violent conflict at Israel’s border with the Gaza strip, Pope Francis echoed a sentiment that has been repeated many times over the millennia of recorded human history: “War begets war. Violence begets violence.” Taken in historical perspective, this might be interpreted to mean that the consequences of one war often include the causes of a subsequent war.
TASK: Evaluate the claim that “war begets war.” To the extent that this vicious cycle exists, how might the cycle be broken?
