Radiation budget and the carbon cycle.
The midterm project is to create an “Carbon-Zine”In class, we have learned about the radiation budget and the carbon cycle. Your task for the midterm is to create a “zine” about the carbon cycle, paying special attention to the Greenhouse Effect and the link between the carbon cycle andthe radiation budget.What goes in your Zine is somewhat open-ended: it may be aseries of poems, essays, a comic, a graphic novel, a narrative story, etc.However, your zine must be informative to a lay audience. Also, your zine must be properly sourced:you must include at least 3 citable sources (my lecture doesn’t count as a citable source, but may be used for reference).Please focus your efforts on “bringing your research to life”paying specific attention toyour audience, and effectively communicatingcomplicated scientific material to the general public.A first draft outlining your zine will be due in class on March 2, and you will have time in class on March 16 to work on your completed Zine (details forthcoming about the structure of this class).The final zine will be due on March 23 and will be worth 20% of your final grade.
