Matt Taibbi (2014) suggests that unequal justice is largely a consequence of racialized policing and the existing wealth gap. Analyze the relationship between economic inequality and unequal justice (especially within the context of colonialism and its continued consequences), including things like racialized policing, racialized border controls, state-sanctioned violence, and economic exploitation. How well have the various theoretical frameworks in this course addressed these and other problems of unequal justice? What notions of a just society do they make possible? How have they worked or failed? Be precise.
Don’t forget a thesis sentence explaining what the paper is about, what you intend to do, and how you will do it: “In this essay, I will… by… in order to…”
Use a title page and separate works cited (these do not count towards paper length)
There is an 8 full page requirement, but I will grade up to 10.
Systematic references and proper in-text citations from at least 3 readings and 2 videos. Failure to reference and cite from at least 3 readings and 2 video will result in a grade no higher than a C. Papers with no clear references and citations will not receive a passing grade.
Remember that especially in a justice studies course, granting due credit to the ideas and contributions of others is an ethically significant practice.
You must cite properly (see examples in Module 1 module DB prompt and reference this library guide for help:https://libguides.asu.edu/citing).
Be sure to use proper formatting and grammar; don’t forget to revise!
