Literary Search Task
Compare the activity of a single brain region across at least 2 different tasks. How similar are the tasks being used? What can we conclude about the function of the brain area based on its activity across different tasks?
Professor is very strict about APA citations. My professor also gave very specific instructions on how the assignment should also be completed and again is very strict about those instructions being followed.
1. There should be title page – in accordance with APA citation standards
2. Introduction section: clearly explain research question and hypothesis. In this section provide some background history on the topic (research question),
3. Methods section: in your analysis and comparison of the 2 research methods/articles, methods section please pay close attention to the technique (correlation study, animal work, experiment, case study, Brian imaging, etc.), sample, design, and stimuli/material. However, do not make this section too long. Keep it concise yet informative.
4. Results section: make sure you play close attention to descriptive statistics (you want to understand the pattern of the data). Ideally you should analyze the appropriateness of the voice of statistical analysis used. Are effect size noted, if not you can an idea of the effect size from the descriptive statistics.
5. Discussion section: This section should summarize important findings, but make sure you compare the authors conclusions with the results . As how does the conclusion compare with the hypothesis of the articles. Make sure the conclusions are based only on the data and not on your own inferences of the data.

Please look at each of the article sections (methods, results, discussion and intro), compare and contrast what both articles have to say in each section. Use a paragraph for each section analysis so in total the assignment should have a MINIMUM of 4 paragraphs, more is okay.

I have attached a sample of the assignment posted by the professor. The sample has a different research question/task, however the structure and how the professor want the assignment to be completed is the same as they are both article reviews. Please read the sample as it will be very helpful. My professor is very strict about what she is looking for and expects the guidelines set above to be followed, tense why the sample is useful to read.
