Scenario: You have a loved one that is ill. They moved in with you a year ago, when they could no longer live alone. Unfortunately, their weakening physical condition has progressed to a point that is over your skill set to handle. You realize through some warning signs and minor incidents that they need another environment to keep them comfortable and safe. You speak to your loved one and luckily, they are realistic and ready to move to where there are the vital services they need. You have heard horror stories about nursing homes and are deeply concerned about your loved one who is vulnerable. The two of you do research in hopes of finding information to help your loved one find a pathway to a safe environment.
Bottom-line to select a safe and nurturing environment for an individual who is vulnerable takes research. They will need to know what rights they are able to enforce and educate themselves on the facilities. You assist upon their request.
