Visit an art museum or gallery of your choice and choose one piece of artwork that resonates with you. You must discuss in detail the historical context of the work of art. Consider what was happening in the world and in the artist’s life at the time this work was created and how that context influenced the work. Synthesize or analyze the issues, ideas, artifacts, or events relevant to your thesis. This includes identifying specific historical events or cultural developments that are relevant for the discussion of the artwork and using those events or developments to make specific arguments in the analysis of the artwork.
When proofreading your paper for college-level, accurate writing, check that your ideas are supported in a coherent, well-ordered fashion. This includes conveying a sense of purpose through a clear thesis in your introduction paragraph. By the end of your paper, you need to have drawn appropriate conclusions, which includes any analyses of your and others’ assumptions.
You must select credible, relevant material from which to summarize, paraphrase, and/or quote from at least 3 sources using Valencia College’s library database: https://libguides.valenciacollege.edu/databasesandarticlesLinks to an external site.

Source material should be effectively integrated with your original ideas and original writing. Please be sure to properly attribute sources using in-text parenthetical citations. Your paper must be between 750-1250 original words in length and follow MLA format, including a works cited page. Include at least one image of the artwork on your title page. Feel free to include more photos. Make sure to include a word count at the end of your paper.
Don’t forget to describe: Write with the well-observed detail that you would use explaining the topic to someone who has never heard of it or seen it. I guarantee this will help you in your analysis!.
At some point in your writing process stop by or email the Writing Center for a consultation on a walk-in basis or utilize the Online Writing Lab. The writing consultants will help plan and organize their writing and learn how to identify and correct errors in grammar, mechanics and development. Students are advised to bring hard copies of their work as well as copies of their assignments. https://valenciacollege.edu/osceola/writing-center/ Include the email or slip from the Writing Lab at the end of your research paper.
