5. RESEARCH MATERIALS FOR CLASS USE. The most difficult part of an advertising campaigns class for most students is simply knowing how to begin work effectively. One effective answer to this recurring dilemma has been to make significant client research materials available for study early in the term. If this is done, enough copies should be made that each team could be presented with a complete set of materials. In addition, the instructor should have a set as well. All materials furnished by the client will be kept in the strictest confidence just as if we actually were your advertising agency. The materials can be returned to you at the end of the term if desired. If the client wishes each team to do its own primary research (which would NOT be shared with other competing teams), this can be arranged. If the client wishes the entire class to participate in primary research which is then shared among all competing teams, this can be arranged. Primary research is required of the students. Whatever the final decision is in regard to research, the earlier we know in the term the more likely the class can do an expert job for you on the assignment.
