STRUCTURE AND SCOPE OF TERM PAPER
3.1. Structure of the Term Paper
The structure of the Term Paper includes the following sections:
1. Title Page
3
2. Table of Contents
3. Introduction
4. Literature Review
5. Conclusions
6. Bibliography
7. Appendix/appendices (including a declaration signed by a student saying that the research
paper has been developed by themselves and it is not plagiarism)
Title Page of the Ter Paper should be drawn up according to the sample (see Appendix 1).
Table of Contents should be drawn up according to the sample (see Appendix 2).
Introduction should justify the topicality of the chosen topic and research issue, emphasizing
public health aspects. Aim and objectives of the Term Paper should be defined in the
introduction. The total amount of the introduction shall be one to two pages. If the topic of the
Term Paper is broad and all the related aspects cannot be included as part of the Term Paper,
then the issue to be researched should be narrowed.
Literature Review should include an overview of the results, methodology and issues obtained
in previous studies, based on the analysis of published scientific literature. In the Literature
Review, the author of the Term Paper shall interpret different research results, their agreement
or contradictions. The Literature Review shall be a critical assessment by the author of what
has been researched on the chosen topic of the Term Paper. It is advised to divide the Literature
Review into sub-chapters. Each chapter should reflect an aspect of the problem being studied
that is organically related to other chapters and the subject matter of the Term Paper as a whole.
Each chapter should end with a summary of a few sentences of the most significant findings in
that chapter. All studies included and described in the Literature Review should correspond to
the subject matter of the Term Paper and they have to be referenced to.
In the Conclusions section, the author shall summarise literature-based findings discussed in
the Term Paper, by defining the resulting specific conclusions as theses listed numerically. All
the conclusions should be logically derived from the compilation of data and information from
research publications analysed in the Literature Review according to the previously stated
research objectives. The conclusions should be drawn directly from the scientific literature
analysed in the Term Paper. General phrases should be avoided when formulating conclusions.
The volume ~ one page.
Bibliography should be drawn up in accordance with the methodological guidelines of RSU
“Methodological Guidelines for Citing References and Compiling Bibliography
