The document I submitted was a proposal. Following are some replies from the professor about the proposal.
The most important parts of your paper will be the literature review and an analysis section. Given that your research question is about identifying the problems with loot boxes and identifying policies which may solve the problem, consider making this the focus of your introduction.
In your paper’s literature review should have at least two subsections: 1) monetization strategies in video games 2) psychology and loot boxes. You cited an important paper (Drummond, 2018) but here are some other ideas:
Zendle, D., & Cairns, P. (2018). Video game loot boxes are linked to problem gambling: Results of a large-scale survey. PloS one, 13(11), e0206767.
Remember that your paper only needs to be around 25-30 pages (double spaced) and needs to demonstrate an understanding of research question. I am happy to read a draft when you have one finished. Please be sure to give me a week turnaround time between drafts if possible.
Following is another professor’s reply
In the paper, you should better
describe what is a “loot box”, and be more clear about what exactly is the
research problem you try to address. The proposal does not really have
