Technical Report
Points: 100
Instructions: This assignment will be more intricate than others we’ve complete thus far in the semester and is worth 100 points toward your final grade in the course. You will have two weeks in which to complete this assignment.
Process: After reading Ch 8 and participating in the discussion forum for Week 10, you should choose a specific area of interest related to your chosen field/profession and complete a report that provides one of the following:
An analysis of a procedure within the organization
An analysis of data used with the organization
Instructions for a process within the organization
This is an open-ended assignment with a lot of flexibility. The purpose of the assignment is to assess whether or not you are able to produce a short, informal report that contains all of the elements discussed in Ch 8. It is not intended to be a long, formal report.
You should spend Week 10 thinking about the topic you’ve selected and gathering preliminary information to be used within that report (figures, data, etc.) And then, in Week 11 of the course, you will write the final draft of the report and submit it to the drop box.
Length: 4-5 pages, double spaced.
IMPORTANT! Refer to the Report Checklist on page 219 and use this as a guide and rubric for your finished report! Make sure that you can “check off” all of the items listed on the checklist.
