1.) Haber starts to dream on page 170. Go to this scene (and keep reading for a few pages) and analyze how (in this moment explicitly) how this illustrates the “the presence of an absence” (172). How does Haber’s effective dream contrast from those of Orr, the ones that came before?

2.) Analyze Orr, particularly in terms of his evolution as a character, concentrating on his attitude, behavior and his role as an (anti)hero. Note that the prefix anti means: 1. “against” 2. “of the same kind but situated opposite, exerting energy in the opposite direction, or pursuing an opposite policy”. Given this, what is Orr situated against and how does his ‘heroic’ moment at the climax of the novel reflect this?
