What do you think instructors mean when they ask you to “evaluate,” “describe,” or “compare and contrast” on tests and assignments?
Sometimes in life it’s worthwhile to guess on what might becoming. Some baseball hitters guess what kind of pitch is coming and swing that way. Some job-seekers guess what questions may be asked in an interview and prepare for them. Is it a good idea to guess what test questions your instructor is likely to ask and prepare for them exclusively? Why or why not?
Have you ever prepared for a test with a friend who knew more than you did? How about with a friend who knew less? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
One proven tip for test takers is to check their paper thoroughly before turning it in. What other suggestions would you give to someone seeking advice about how to be a smart test taker?
