Question: Account for the outbreak of World War I.
You could say that bad luck and also bad timing was responsible for WWI and it’s outbreak so many decades ago. The actions of a group of terrorists murdering the old Archduke and his missus providing the kick-start for the mother of all catastrophes. The Archduke was heir to the “throne of Austria-Hungary”.1 But without these murders maybe WWI wouldn’t have occured. To fully understand how war followed on from these murders it began with, I feel its important to carefully examine the role of nationalism. Its like a virus gnawing away at a powder-keg until – suddenly – KABOOM!
