Introduction to Literacy Center Plan young children first grade

Part 1: Using the graphic organizer I attached, develop a center based activity organizer for an age or grade level you decide. On the organizer identify a theme for instruction. A sample theme in an early childhood classroom ( home ?). Next identify at least 5 children’s books that support the theme and identify before, during and after activities for each book. Based on the theme you selected, identify at least 5 centers you would have in the room. I have placed one possible center idea on the organizer attached. Once you have labeled the centers on your organizer, identify a reading and writing literacy activity or connection to be used in each center along with at least one possible accommodation that could be provided to create access for all with the activities that have been identified.

Part 2: Select one of the children’s books you identified for your theme and using the Wilmington University lesson plan format, develop a shared or interactive reading lesson plan that incorporates the before, during and after activities. The lesson plan must include strategies for differentiating instruction, assessment for monitoring student learning, and rubrics for scoring if needed.
