Identify Crimes Against the State and Public Order

2. Evaluate what you learned from the speakers, and from the article by writing a two – three page paper.
1. In your evaluations you should first add the rule of law found in the textbook (page 163).
The rule of law word for word in text book: “The First Amendment grants the right to ask people for money and to peaceably assemble, but no such gathering may advance criminal objectives such as gang activity.”
2. Critique what the guest speakers said, do you agree or disagree with their analogies?
3. What is the impact of the current events of nationwide protests have on you. (This is your opinion, There should be no quotes in this section, only paraphrasing a statement or two from a speaker that impacted your evaluation of the topic.
ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES:
1. Your paper must be written in APA format with a cover page, and a reference page.
2. Do not use an abstract- if your Word document includes one- delete it.
3. Page count: two to three pages of narrative, but no more than four pages of narrative is needed for this assignment.
4. Introduction: Your introduction should include the rule of law found in your textbook on p. 163.
5. Address these phrases in your paper: civil disobedience, insurrection, riot, rebellion, looting, assault, destruction of property, and arson.
6. Describe what is lawful and what is unlawful, and where do we draw the line between freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly, verses verbal confrontations and rebellion.
7. Explain the two gentleman’s perspectives of riot and rebellion.
8. Do you agree or disagree with their perspectives. Explain in your own words and not just paraphrase their words.
9. Close with your feelings on current events.
