Attached you will find The Case of Bernie B. As you will see, it is a detailed case, but rich in information about the client. Just as in the other case studies you completed, you will not be diagnosticians, but will be addressing the case from a point of exploration — the first step in working with a client.
Please read the case in detail, and answer the following questions in as must detail as you can, giving supporting details to support your answers.
Plz anwer following questions?
(1) It’s pretty clear that Bernie had periods of depression, but what is it about his hypomanic states (what his wife calls “crazy” Bernie) that are problematic, and need of psychiatric/psychological help? If you feel that these time periods are not problematic and do not need psychiatric/psychological intervention, support your answer as well.
(2) Should Bernie’s children be included in counseling? Why or why not?
(3) Pretend you are already a curious mental health professional. List at least 5 questions you have that would help you get a deeper understanding of Bernie, his wife and/or his family.
