You will use two sources, one to support each side of your argument. You will start with a thesis statement that shows your reader what you are arguing. And then you will present the counter-argument (the other side). After showing both sides of the argument, you may conclude what side you fall on the issue. In a logical argument, it is very important to show both sides of the issue to show that you are not overly biased.
State your purpose by writing a clear thesis statement using a source to help explain and back up your view. You would then explain why some people are against this view and show a source to support that view.
Construct a strong introductory paragraph that includes your thesis statement and the main points that you plan to discuss in your essay. Three main points are a manageable number and will give your essay substance.
The main body of your essay is where you have the opportunity to present your argument point by point.
Draw it all together with a conclusion that not only sums up what you have said but asks your reader to do something or feel differently from having read your essay.
