Mock Interview

In this assignment, you will conduct a job interview using the interview guide you created in the previous assignment. The purpose of this assignment is to give you practice conducting a job interview as an interviewer, to test your interview questions and scales, and help you reflect on the effectiveness of the job interview.

Using your structured interview guide, conduct a mock interview for the position.

Eliminate the appendix (if applicable).
Ask your candidate each question.
Take detailed notes. We both need to be able to re-create the candidate’s answers based on these notes! (You may find that you have to go in and add more notes after the interview because you cannot keep up during the interview.)
Rate the answer to each question using the measurement scales you created.
Compile a total interview score and provide a “Hire” or “Do Not Hire” recommendation.
Then, analyze the mock interview you conducted.

Add blank pages at the end of your interview guide for the analysis.
Required items to include:
Key wins (at least 3). Include why they were wins – what did you do that resulted in this going well?
Key opportunities (at least 3). Include why they were opportunities and what you would change next time.
Key overall learnings (at least 3). What did you get from this assignment? You could also think about the whole series of assignments starting with KSAOs.
