An overview of the two areas of research in a couple of sentences each
A thesis sentence that states which side of the issue presents a stronger argument.
Examples:
After researching both sides of capital punishment, I believe that the proponents present a stronger argument than do the opponents.
After researching both sides of capital punishment, I believe that the proponents make a stronger argument regarding the economics of it but a weaker argument regarding deterrence.

You should order the paragraphs in the following way so that you leave your reader with the stronger argument as the lasting impression:

Examples of topic sentences for a Research Area:
Opponents of school uniforms argue that uniforms do not decrease instances of bullying (weaker)
