This is the capstone assignment for the class. It is worth the most points and is an opportunity to analyze the film using the concepts from all of the other seminars. DO NOT repeat scenes. Choose a different one for each application.

In the first paragraph identify the film chosen, the director, and present a brief subjective statement regarding that film, a very brief synopsis, as well as what will be presented within the paper.

Identify at least two outside resources to support the discussion of the paper. These can be used to support any part of the assignment. Use a quote from each of those resources to support discussion within the assignment. Properly cite the resources.

In the second paragraph Identify the screenwriter. Determine if it is adaptation or original screenplay. If it is an adaptation, then include the source as well. Was the screenplay good? Discuss why it was or was not effective. Next identify both the protagonist and antagonist giving rationale for the choices made. Choose to apply either the foil or confidant as that character relates to the protagonist. Identify an example of foreshadowing. Identify the dramatic question and how it is answered in the denouement. (underline all terms) help

In the third paragraph begin with a general comment regarding the mise en scene that references this film specifically. How does it reinforce the story the characters, etc.? Then, choose three significant scenes and apply a different mise en scene term (underline each term) that exists and that supports the significance within each scene selected.

In the fourth paragraph begin with a general comment regarding the music that references this film specifically. Include the name of the composer. How does it reinforce the story the characters, etc.? Then, choose three significant scenes and apply a different music function (underline each function) that exists and that supports the significance within each scene selected.

How does it reinforce the story the characters, etc.?
