Which observer of digital culture do you think is the best predictor of the future of digital media: Castells, Zuboff, or Rushkoff? Explain your reasoning. 6. Marwick’s article on Instagram, “Instafamous,” explored three different Instagram accounts in an attempt to understand what it means to be “internet famous.” Evaluate one or more of her claims, given the hindsight of the past five years. 7. How has the science-fiction concept of the cyborg been made relevant to analyze the impact of digital technology upon culture? 8. Contextualize the Pew survey report entitled “53% of Americans Says the Internet Has Been Essential During the COVID-19 Outbreak” within the context of the class reading list and your own experience.
