Article Analysis Presentations – Due 10/20
Each team will be asked to select a recent article (within the past 6 months) from a reputable online newspaper (e.g., The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times) that reflects some aspect of the topics covered in this course so far. You will not receive credit for this assignment if you select an article from a disreputable online site rather than a credible news source.
The same article can not be used by more than one team in the class, so you will need to coordinate with your classmates to ensure you are not selecting the same article as another team. I will create a sign up list on blackboard so that you can claim the article you are planning on using once you have found it.
You will need to read your article and then prepare responses to the following questions. You will then present this information to the class in a four minute presentation using Powerpoint slides:
1) Name, Author, Source (Publisher) of the article
2) Overview and description of the article (brief)
3) Identification of how the article relates to a specific topic we have covered so far (how does it relate to our class) and discussion of the benefits and/or consequences of the course component to the firm/industry
4) Your opinion/stance on the issues being discussed
You should not simply summarize each article. This assignment is meant to help strengthen your analysis skills. Your analysis will be presented in class but you should submit your slides here before class starts.
