Papers must be typed and double spaced; the font must be 12-point Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman.
A minimum of five sources must be cited in the reference section of the paper; at least three must be literary (books, magazines or journals, court transcripts, or newspapers). Literary sources may be in digital format, and reputable internet sources may also be used.
The paper must be a minimum of six pages long, including the title and reference pages. The general format, particularly the title page, reference page, and in-text citations should adhere to APA format. An abstract is not needed and should not be included. Reference guides and internet links to APA formatting resources will be posted in class.
Research papers will be graded on the depth of research, clarity, logical thinking and mechanics. They should be well organized, and use proper grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling. Papers should be objective and contain facts supported by citations, not opinions.
The paper MUST be submitted in one of these file formats: Word (.doc or .docx), Rich Text (.rtf), or Portable Document Format (.pdf). Papers in other file formats, including Google documents and OpenDocument Text (.odt) files will not be accepted.
