Guidelines for Annotated Bibliographies: For each source, compose an extended evaluative summary as described below.
1) Bibliographic Entry: For each source, begin with the bibliographic information
correctly formatted according to MLA standard style guidelines.
2) Evaluative Summary: For each source, compose an evaluative summary that
includes the following three parts.
(a) Content Summary: In around 110 words, articulate a “big picture
assertion–telling what the source is about/accomplishes, overall. Also
explain major “key points” from the source, along with examples/details
from the source that help the summary to be more thorough or clear. You will need
a direct quote from each entry. The quote should give explanation or illumination
of a point you consider important to your summary.
(b) Objective Evaluation: In around 110 words, objectively evaluate the
source using the criteria that you find most relevant. Be sure the criteria are
clearly specified and that you include specific information/examples to show
how the source meets or does not meet high expectations. Make a statement
explaining how and to whom this article might be beneficial.
(c) Subjective Evaluation: In around 110 words. Keep both your objective evaluation and
your analysis of your rhetorical situation in mind as you compose this section
