BC Climate Change and Silviculture Research Project

This is a written assignment. You are required to do a short report on what are the possible effects of Climate Change on the British Columbia Silviculture Industry. And/ or what steps have been taken towards addressing the effects of climate change in British Columbia silviculture industry.

This will be a 300 – 600 word written report. The written report must be handed in no later than 4:00pm, November 23rd, 2020. Include any images and illustrations you want.

This report should be written as though it will be presented at your next company staff meeting. Where the audience would be your co-workers, supervisor and/or managers. They would be interested to know what you learned about the effects of climate change on Forestry in British Columbia.

Do not just cut and paste sentences and paragraphs from other authors but rather, using your own words, just describe what you discovered. It is usually expected that you would also give your own opinions of the findings at these kinds staff meetings. If you are using sentences etc. from other authors you must cite them properly.

The following should be covered at a minimum. Approximate grading values shown in Bold

What are some of the known issues that will arise for the silviculture industry? (2)

What kinds of things are being done to lessen the negative impacts of climate change to our forests and silviculture industry? (2)

Give your own opinions regarding the activities, or research projects you read about. (2)
