Step Two
Each person in your group will choose a separate museum job. Discuss in your Group who is taking which job. Every job may not be filled.
I choose to be an educator

Step Three
Each person in your Group will choose 2 separate artworks from the “1303 World Cultures” checklist. For example, if you are “Group Five: Africa,” each person in your Group will choose 2 different artworks from the African art on the list.
I choose this two artwork:

Dancing Shiva, rock-cut relief, cave 1, Badami, India, late sixth century
Vishnu Asleep on Serpent Ananta, relief panel, south facade, Vishnu Temple, Deogarth, India, early 6th century

Step Four
Record and upload a half-page report (). Imagine you are speaking to an audience, and follow the instructions in Job Descriptions (first, second, third, conclusion). This is a short report. so you are not expected to be too detailed in the report.
Educator: Educators help museum visitors of all ages and backgrounds learn about art through educational programs and activities. For your report: first, describe briefly what you think would be the most fun about being an educator, what you think would be the hardest, and what you think would be most important for an educator to know or be able to do (and why you think these skills would be important)? Second, describe one of your 2 artworks in detail, how you would use it to help a class of 25 third-graders learn about that artwork, what activity you would have the students do to help them learn, and what would be hardest about planning or doing this? Be specific/detailed. Third, describe your second artwork in detail, and what specific activity you would set up with senior adults to help them better understand the artwork, the techniques of how it was made, and the culture and people who made? Be specific and detailed, especially on how you would use technology to help these older adults learn. For your conclusion, what do you think would be the hardest group of any age or background to get to come to the museum to see the exhibition (if there was no coronavirus!)? What would be the best thing you could do out in the community
(outside the museum) to get the group you are thinking about to come in and learn about the art?

Step Five
Write and submit a 600-700 word Pearl Exhibition Written Report. This will have four paragraphs and will cover the same items as your audio report, but in writing and in more detail. Each job is different, so follow the instructions for your job in your Written Report.
Please use 12-point font, double-spaced, and submit as a PDF, Word document, or other compatible formats.

These Reports are based on your thoughts, ideas, and feelings about the artwork and your job. This is not a “research paper” and outside sources other than the textbook and class material are not permitted. (please don’t paste reports from Wikipedia, other outside sources). You may use the information on the handout, the slides, and the textbook, but focus on your thoughts, not on repeating back the textbook information.
