Purpose: Students will discuss controversies relating to the issue of quality qualitative research studies. Students will identify the quality criteria proposed in a major framework for evaluating quality and integrity in qualitative research.
Initial Discussion Question: Select a qualitative study from the online DSC library based on your Healthy People “objective” from Week 4. Read the study and use Lincoln and Guba’s Framework of Quality Criteria for qualitativeresearch (pages 295-297 of your text) to address one of the areas listed below; please provide specific examples from the study.
Discuss the ONE of the following areas:
1. Credibility of the study,
2. Dependability of the study
3. Confirmability of the study
4. Transferability of the study
5. Authenticity of the study
