Final Playlist Project
For your final project for this course, you will be asked to create a playlist of your own construction which includes music composed, or notably performed by, female musicians of your choosing. In general, you have a good deal of freedom, but here are the guidelines you must follow in order to receive full credit:
Please include a minimum of 30 different musical pieces.
Do not include more than 2 pieces by the same artist.
10 of your examples must come from before the year 1900.
You may only copy up to 5 songs from our course’s repertoire list (the pieces on our Spotify playlist or those listed in the Repertoire list in the top, pinned module).
You are welcome to host your playlist on whatever platform you’d like (if you want to), but for the project you must upload a Word document or PDF to this assignment in Canvas.
Please also write and include a short essay with your playlist which describes why you chose the pieces you did (minimum 150 words but can be longer).
Come to our final class during finals week to share an excerpt of one song from your playlist and describe why you chose it.
