Final Reflection paper

Learning reflection/evaluation exercise (worth 50 points): Rather than a final research paper, we are asking each student to submit a review of your learning experience in this course. To restate, this course covers a host of topics within the broad field of health informatics, and it is easy to move on from one topic to the next without seeing how they all fit together. While we try to explain how all of this fits together in the lectures, it is, in our opinion, fruitful for students to step outside themselves and critically examine what you have learned and what it means to you.

In your essay, pick three topics covered in the course to write about. How do the topics covered in this class fit together? How do the data, tools, and methods you have learned about help support a “learning health system”? Where do you see these three topics moving in the future and/or how they support a learning health system (LHS)?

This should be a minimum of 1.5 pages and a maximum of 2 pages of written work (not including references/citations). Points will be deducted if the assignment is under or over the page limits. Please see the grading rubric.
Organization: The paper should be organized into 5 paragraphs
A brief introduction paragraph in which you clearly state the 3 topics you will discuss and why you chose these topics.
One paragraph for each of the 3 topics you choose to discuss (total of 3 paragraphs).
In these paragraphs, be sure to give a brief overview of the topic
Discuss how you see the topic developing in the future.
If you are unsure, please research an article at quality websites such as Pubmed.gov.

Conclusion paragraph discussing how these topics in health informatics relate to one another and/or how they relate to the Learning Health System (LHS).
Format: 1.5 or double spaced with 12 point font.
Citations: In-text citations in APA or MLA format.
Four or more references required for this assignment with appropriate in-text citations.

Required Content:

Provide a thoughtful reflection of 3 topics you learned in this course and how you see these topic/areas of health informatics fit together or interact.
Describe how you see theses areas/topics of health informatics progressing in the future. For example, how do you see electronic health records evolving or how do you see leaders in the field moving towards better interoperability? Do you feel consumers will play more of a role in health informatics? These are just some examples. There isn’t a “wrong” answer to this; however, endeavor to express yourself clearly, cogently, and honestly.
