Biology of War

Using the criteria at the bottom of the page, respond to the following:
1. Take a look at contemporary culture’s expressions of violence and war. If you were a scientist trying to demonstrate that there is a biological drive to war and destruction, what behaviours and human practices would you use to support your theory?
2. Conversely, if you were a scientist trying to demonstrate that aggression is as a result of learning, or nurture, what cultural symbols or cultural practices would you use to support your theory?
3. Go under the title “The War Impulse” in this module and scroll down to the last two paragraphs. Use the nature/nurture ruler to gauge your position on human aggression. What is your position, and what factors or experiences in your life led you to this conclusion?
