What rights do the parents and student have (ch 1) during the referral and assessment process?
Who must be involved in the referral process and why (ch 2)?
How would educators collaborate to support the family if they are recent immigrants or minorities (ch 3 & 4)?
You will use the information from these chapters to demonstrate your knowledge of how educators and families collaborate, so when you should use formal language and technical terms that are defined and explained. In each section, you should explain the “why” and state your agreement or disagreement–reporting the facts is not sufficient for full credit in the content category of the rubric.
