All students will write an MLA-style essay not exceeding 1500 words. This essay will discuss one or more of the critical thinking (philosophy) topics, which are the subject of our study, as it appears in a fictional literary work that we have read together in this class.
1. Write a comparative study of the characters in Borges’s “The Aleph” and Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado.” There is a moment in “The Aleph” that is very similar in nature to the main action in “The Cask of Amontillado.”. Your essay should explore some of the psychology of the characters involved as well as compare the nature of the Aleph itself to whatever it is that the characters are seeking underground in Poe’s story.
2. Imagine you have two week to do write the above essay, write a learning journal (about 100 words) using the template I uploaded.
