Magazine Article Summary

1. Select 1 magazine article dealing with any sociological concept or issue. The magazine article may be from: Newsweek, Time Magazine, National Geographic, or US News and World Report ONLY. 2. Find 1 additional source which provides additional information on your topic (national newspaper article, national organization’s website, official government site, peer-reviewed journal article). 3. Summarize the main points of the magazine article using your own words 4. Summarize the main points of your second source using your own words 5. Identify the sociological concepts that are involved in each of the sources you selected 6. Give your thoughts on the implication these concepts are having, or will have, on our society. ✓ What effect does this idea, concept or issue have on society? ✓ If this idea, concept, or issue is not addressed, how will it affect society in the future? 7. Explain what interested you about this topic and what you learned. This paper should be typed using black ink, 10 to 12 New Times Roman font, double-spaced, and with 1 inch margins. It must include a Title Page, be 4–5 pages long (not counting the title page or the reference page) and must have a copy of the magazine article and a copy of your second source attached to the paper (or instead, you may include the links to each of the sources on your Reference page). Be aware that providing me with the links alone does not count as proper APA documentation. MAKE sure you include the complete APA citation in addition to the links.
