shoulder impingement. After 8 weeks of PT, Tom’s R shoulder pain has resolved, but he wants to
continue to work on his posture and movement dysfunctions to prevent future problems and to maintain
the progress he has made. His PT sent the following notes upon his discharge from care:
Tom is an apical breather who initially presented to PT with R shoulder pain, a thoracic kyphosis,
bilateral stiff pecs, and R scapular dyskinesis. His pain has resolved but the dyskinesis returns when
stressed eccentrically and when fatigued.
Based on the information provided, develop a corrective exercise program using the guidelines provided
in the assignment that will address movement dysfunctions and allow Tom to continue his safe return to
his recreational activities of racquetball and strength training.
