Curriculum Evaluation, Alignment, and Support
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE INSTRUCTIONS. I am attaching several sources to assist with writing this evaluation of the Engage NY Algebra I curriculum and to strategize for successful, effective implementation. The directions are posted below, but I will also post a file with the directions. #4-6 should be about half a page or a little longer. The main focus (grade) will come from the first 3 bullets. I TRULY appreciate assistance with this writing project!
Create a detailed description of the scope and sequence of the Engage NY curriculum for Algebra I with specific examples of the curriculum, instruction, assessments, and resources. Explanation should clearly align with the performance standards that lead to college and career readiness (Louisiana standards). Describe and analyze the curriculum, instruction, assessments, and resources for college and career readiness skills and increased student achievement. (being used at a high school in Louisiana) Citations or data are included to support the response.
Create detailed strategies (integrate data) to sustain the Engage NY Algebra I curriculum that is conducive to student learning through collaboration, trust, and a personalized learning environment with high expectations. Include how you will collaborate with others to accomplish school improvement goals in math, how you will work with school staff to facilitate the use of appropriate content-based learning materials and learning strategies in math, how you will incorporate cultural competence in further developing the math curriculum, and how you will monitor the math program to ensure personalized learning opportunities. Also be sure to assess the strategies based on the school characteristics (not very diverse, primarily white middle class students, low math scores, parental involvement is high). Include citations to support the strategies.
Create a detailed plan for a comprehensive, rigorous, and coherent curricular and instructional school program in math, that includes specific examples for how each of the following will promote increased student achievement: strategies for collaborating with faculty to plan, implement, and evaluate a coordinated, aligned, and articulated math curriculum, how the candidate will use evidence-centered research in making curricular and instructional decisions in the math program, strategies for interpreting information about the math program and communicating progress toward achievement. Include citations to support the plan.
Create a detailed plan for how to develop and supervise the instructional and leadership capacity of school staff in the math program that includes how the plan will positively impact student achievement and address each of the following: strategies for working collaboratively with school staff to improve teaching and learning; based on instructional needs of staff, design professional growth plans to increase the capacity of school staff and leaders that reflect national professional development standards and that are consistent with the school vision and goals. Citations are included related to the plan.
Critically use research to create detailed strategies to promote effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning in your school’s literacy or math program addressing each of the following: improving and enriching classroom instruction, student achievement, and continuous school improvement in math; monitoring instructional practices and assessment in math and provide continual assistance to teachers. Include citations to support strategies.
Create detailed strategies with specific examples for how to act with integrity and fairness in supporting school policies and staff practice to ensure that the school is accountable for every student’s academic and social success in math.
