In 3 pages (1,000 words) critically reflect upon the following:
Whose perspective(s) on globalization do you most agree with (Huntington, Barber, Said, Friedman) and why? What particular aspects of globalization (its historical trends and impacts) support the author(s) arguments/theories?
You should first briefly summarize the major theories on globalization that were proposed by Huntington, Barber, Said, Friedman. Then, explain whose ideas you support the most and why (could be more than one person or no one if you think there is something missing from each one). Use at least 2 other readings (not by the theorists) from weeks 1, 2, 3, and 4 for your critical discussion on why the author(s) arguments are valid as evidenced by the research on globalization. If no one’s argument seems valid to you, use the readings to show why.
(I agree with Friedman’s reading, “The Groundswell,” please try to write the essay according to that)
NOTE: the essay should be double-spaced, Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins all around in a Word document.
A bibliography/works cited is NOT required. However, please use in-text citation (example: Friedman, pg. 85) whenever you quote or refer to specific ideas from the readings. Do not use block quotes or long quotes. The paper is short, so keep your quotes short too.
