ISSS Reflective Paper
Individual Reflective Paper (Imaginative K12 Leadership Cohort)
A central feature of your learning about imagination in this program has involved your participation in the Imaginative Schools Symposium Series (ISSS). The final component of your course on imagination requires you to critically and creatively reflect on the ISSS experience as a whole. Indicate how your conceptions of imagination, leadership and imagination’s roles in leadership have developed as a result of the ISSS experience.
What did the content or experience(s) teach you about imagination? About leadership? About imagination in leadership? About yourself? In what ways does imagination inform your sense of leadership now? How does imagination inform your identity as a leader?
Your paper should be well organized and concise. Be sure to include references to any applicable articles/texts. Use APA correctly. Length should not exceed 1000 words. [I urge you to have at least one critical friend carefully edit your paper before submitting it.]

Criteria for Evaluation
Level / quality of critical reflection
Specificity of writing (links to particular moments/activities)

• Description of your personal understanding of imagination as an emerging leader
• References to relevant scholarship, where applicable
• Writing quality / paper organization / accuracy of APA
I need help to revise/rewrite my ISSS leadership assignment. Please make sure to take a close look at the initial assignment description, the Symposium Series Resources provided, as well as my first three attempts and the feedback received.
It won’t be possible to write an adequate reflection without a close study of the ISSS materials.

I encourage you to revise and write a much more personal and emotionally-rich reflection that employs a range of tools from different toolkits. A focus on PU that does not come out of a demonstration of somatic, mythic, romantic engagement AND doesn’t push toward the ironic–somewhat misrepresents what IE aims to develop. (The end goal is not PU.)
Note: my comments reflect critique–a lack of more nuanced understandings that I wouldn’t expect you to have developed—we did not go deep into IE theory!
To show me and help me see/feel YOUR personal growth, please enrich with somatic, mythic, and/or romantic AND some ironic takeaways. (I suggest you apply the tools that most inspire you, rather than aim to “use” all the PU tools.)
