Unknown Pathogen Lab Report
Hello there, I have a Microbiology class where we have a case study and must identify and unknown pathogen by analyzing perti dishes and lab tests. This lab report must be 2 pages. I can give a breakdown of the results from the lab tests. There is a guide as well. The end result is that the pathogen is salmonella typhimurium. I’d like a 2 page paper written on this. In the hyposthesis/abstract I would for it be mentioned that I think the pathogen can either be E Coli or Salmonella but am leaning towards Salmonella as it is more prevalent in chicken than beef. I’ve attached the Lab Report Guidelines below: For the API20E test we can see that it points so S. typhimurium. For the Gram Stain = Negative Campy= Negative/ not releveant to our pathogen Hekteon = Lactose fermentation test. Our pathogen is lactose non fermenting MAC= Inhinits gram + growth TCBS= negative TSI = not ecoli but S. typhimurium SMAC= negative on sorbitol
