The trait leadership centers on varying personalities, characteristics, and traits that are associated with effective leadership(Nawaz and Khan, 2016). Therefore, these are different patterns of individual characteristics that lead to effective leadership across a group.

Steve Jobs the founder of Apple Inc. had a personality that enabled him to influence others. His vision is one of the great inspirations that made people desire following him. Steve Job used to hold different traits such as self-confidence, persistence, intelligence, integrity, determination, tolerance, and cooperation.

Behavioral leadership theory states that a leader’s success is grounded on their actions while responding to certain situations. Therefore, this entails examining the behaviors and actions of a leader while reacting to a specific situation (Nawaz and Khan, 2016).

Jeff Bezos the CEO of Amazon had a great influence on others since he paid attention to the interest of others and is known to be a task-oriented leader. His leadership is known for his committed association and relationship with his followers.

Contingency leadership defines a leader as one dependent on a style that is suitable for a certain circumstance (Kibbe, 2019). This emphasizes on a leader’s personality and the situation in which they operate.

Bill Gates is one of the contingency leaders who is known for prioritizing the establishment and maintenance of relationships. The situation that Bill Gates deals with is to focus on leader-member relations and task structure. He is an effective leader who can hand and respond to particular situations.

Skills leadership argues that knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for a leader to be effective. Certain abilities, knowledge, and skills can be developed and learned. This approach determines the success of a leader upon what they can achieve.

Mark Zuckerberg is one of the well-known skill leaders since he possesses both human and conceptual skills. For instance, his conceptual skills are effective since he has offered many ideas to Facebook and demonstrated knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Situational Leadership

Situational leadership entails the flexibility of a leader to assess the workplace to choose the leadership style that is suitable for the goals and circumstances (Kibbe, 2019). The leader is not grounded on certain skills but adapts a management style for the existing requirements within the organization.

General George Patton is one of the highest rank leaders in the American military that used the situational leadership style. His war tactics and approach entailed examining and analyzing the situation to plan or change plans for the course of action.
