ANSWER
Question One
In the early centuries, nursing as a profession was at its infancy phase, which was regarded only as of the work of those in the community’s lowest classes. Nurses’ training and education never existed, and little attention was paid to the quality of healthcare given by those among the different nursing orders. However, things have changed in the 21st century within the nursing profession (Cashin, 2018). The profession is the glue that binds the patient’s healthcare process together, and across the whole experience, nurses constantly operate to evaluate and safeguard all the wants of a patient. The current nurses are subjected to regular learning where they are taught on giving the most accurate diagnoses and how to manage critical health problems; thus, making them indispensable in protecting the public health. Moreover, the health care setting used to be at home or on the battleground for several women in the nursing industry. This changed, and now nurses are considered medical professionals needed in schools, correctional centers, and in the military.
The nursing profession was reformed by Florence Nightingale, an upper-division British woman who conquered the public thoughts when she directed a number of female nurses to the Crimea in 1854 to provide nursing operations to the British soldiers (“Evolution of the Nursing Profession”). After she returned to England, she successfully created nurse education guidelines in many British hospitals. These institutions were arranged on a precise set of thoughts concerning how nurses should be cultured. Even though there was a problem within the career, nursing grew as a professional field and was acknowledged as a significant health care activity by the early twentieth century. During the 20th century, hospitals increased with more patient beds added to these facilities and delivering care, which started getting more complex. However, with the emergence of “advance practice nurses,” hospitals and other health care institutions were places for getting more efficient, safer, and cheap health care services. Clinical specialists, nursing practitioners, and other specialty-area nurses are currently stable and perform a large portion of healthcare activities.
Question Two
Nursing theories are organized stages of knowledge that define what nursing entails, the functions of a nurse, and reasons for accomplishing these duties. These theories present a mechanism that outlines nursing as an exclusive discipline different from other disciplines such as medicine. Still, these theories are frameworks of models and purposes intended to control nursing profession at a more tangible and detailed phase. On the other hand, a conceptual model is a way of monitoring a discipline such as nursing clearly communicated to others. These conceptual models provide avenues in which nurses can monitor their duties. One of the primary differences between nursing theory and a nursing model is that the conceptual model provides guidance precisely to people in their research, whereas; the theory examines the nursing phenomenon procedure, which is anchored on the research.
There are different types of nursing theories in the nursing profession. Humanistic nursing theory is one of the many theories which concentrates on the human aspect of nursing and is created in the early 1960s based on their urge to mix nursing with phenomenological and existential ideas (Pinto et al., 2017). This theory argues that, through evaluating individual experiences and personality connecting with patients, clinical nurses can design modern theoretical arguments which could become significant plans for other nursing care professionals. Nurses should connect with their patients in an interpersonal manner to create the best care approach.
