Destroying Precious Land for Gas

The cautionary tale about conserving our environment has become so common that everyone knows it by heart. However, it seems that while most of us are well informed about the causes, effects and predictions, very few are willing to do something about it. Sean Lennon describes such a situation in her home town where some gas companies are purposed on building a new pipeline for natural gas. The pipeline means an ultimate end to the beautiful landscape and if that is too small to stop an entire conglomerate of companies, the pipeline will most definitely poison the water supplied to Americans living in New York. The general claim by these kinds of companies is that natural gas is clean but that is not entirely true. The fact that natural gas is non-renewable means that it is not sustainable. Additionally, it is a hydrocarbon meaning any application of it to produce energy releases carbon dioxide, hence polluting the air. And, to citizens such as Sean, natural gas is extremely flammable meaning an explosion in such kind of neighbourhood could be catastrophic.

The truth is that no matter how much a selected number of people believe that they are doing right by environmental conservation, as far as the source can run out, it means it is not sustainable and therefore needs replacing. Scientist warns us that we may be getting to the catastrophic pages of global warming. The threat is no longer theoretical but current and promises to annihilate beautiful neighbourhoods like Sean’s as well as life as we know it. Wind, solar, tidal, geothermal, biomass and hydro energy are the real sources of renewable, sustainable and clean energy and anyone still trying to implement any other form of energy and lying that it is clean is putting life and the planet at great risk.
