12 Angry Men Analysis
12 Angry Men is a film that clearly illustrates the concepts of the criminal justice system. The film has demonstrated the prejudices, cultural differences, injustice, and stereotypes in the American Legal system. Many important concepts central to the criminal justice system have been highlighted in the criminal justice system. These include crime and justice, including victimization, criminal behavior, laws, and criminal justice structure. These are the issues that many faces in everyday situations. The twelve jurors have a task where they have to decide whether the young man is innocent or guilty for murdering the father (Rose, 2016). The film has shown how the justice system is ineffective, corrupt, and unjust since all aspects have indicated the significant differences in the twelve jurors’ morality while handling the issue at hand.
The film has been an effective way through which the ordinary citizen learns about the law. This represents real-life public trials and how the courtrooms decide whether an individual is guilty or not. The film shows how prejudice prevails in the courtroom while the 12 jurors enter the jury room (Ali, 2016). Eleven of them had already agreed that the boy is guilty since nobody expects much from the inner city boy who is the main suspect of the murder trial. After the eighth Juror forces that they look through the evidence offered for the case, the other 11 are caught up in the process. The gaps and errors in the criminal justice system have been identified in the film (Ali, 2016). The film has also focused on the different personalities presented by the 12 men and how they have influenced the case and the final verdict.
In summation, the course has offered several information topics and essential information linked to the criminal justice system, such as criminal behavior, victimization, laws, law enforcers, and the criminal justice system. The film makes connections to the criminal justice system and exposes how various concepts influence the jury system.
