An Important condition for every business success is the establishment and development of online presence. To build a successful e-Business solution, the following stages are proven for success.  The project for the implementation of E-commerce for Grace and Matt’s supermarket will go through the four main phases of the project life cycle. The main phases of the project life cycle include initiation, planning, execution, and closure. Understanding and meeting the objectives and tasks of each phase of this project will contribute to the failure or success of the project.

Phase one of the project life cycle is the identification of opportunities, needs, and problems. Matt and Grace will first identify the need, solutions, and opportunities offered by establishing the ecommerce website. After identifying the needs, they will prepare a request for a proposal that will allow adequate contractors to submit their proposals for the implementation of e-Business. Through the RFP, Grace and Matt will ask the potential contractors to submit their proposals regarding how they will solve problems and how the project will cost to be fully operational.

The second phase of the project will be the establishment of proposal to offer a solution to the problems and needs. At this stage, potential contractor’s proposals will be carefully evaluated with regards to customer ease as well as the use of the website’s overall desirability, appeal, and content. Phase three will be the actual implementation of the solution proposed after the selection of the contractor. The stage will include detailed planning of the entire project and the sub-projects that will be accompanied by step by step implementation of adequate internal controls. The last phase of the project life cycle is project termination. Upon the completion of the project, Grace and Matt will accept the project while at the same time the contractor will pass the project to Grace and Matt, issue the project invoice and receive payment for their work. The contractor will also seek for project evaluation that will offer the satisfaction level and learn about the accomplishments.
