Reasons why strategic implementation fails

A first key reason why strategic implementation can fail is when there is a lack of teamwork among the members. A second reason is when an organization lacks clear goals and objective in the process of strategic implementation (Lasserre, 2017). Failure to account for the business is a third reason which can lead to failure in the implementation. Loss of momentum in the course of the implementation could also lead to failure in effective strategic implementation.

A fifth reason is a failure by a leader to listen to the other workers and juniors, which can adversely affect the process of strategic implementation, leading to failure. Lack of alignment is another primary reason that can affect a strategic plan. Failure to celebrate success could also hinder an organization from attaining its strategic plan goals. Failure to have a structured system could also impact a strategic plan negatively

A ninth reason is having an unrealistic time frame, where it can impact a firm’s operations. Lack of a well-laid monitoring system for the plan could also hinder the plan. Poor communication skills can also significantly harm an organization from attaining its set goals and objectives (Lasserre, 2017). Having inaccurate financial estimations is the final factor that can deter an organization from a successful implementation of its strategic plan.

Safeguards that can prevent an implementation from failing

First, there is a need for strong teamwork among members. Secondly, there is a need for clear goals and objectives from the teams within the firm. The team also needs to account for all its processes as a way of keeping in line with the goals in place. The leaders also need to listen to their juniors as a way of ensuring that major issues are thoroughly addressed. The team embers need to stay motivated and to achieve the goals in place, to ensure that they do not lose the momentum (Lasserre, 2017). Everyone in the firm needs to be able to clearly articulate how their own set their own goals and tasks as a way of contributing to the strategic plan. Small wins and successes ought to be celebrated as a way of encouraging the team to push on into achieving the goals in place.

A company needs to have a structured system prior to the commencement of the implementation process. It also needs to have a realistic time frame before commencing any plans. A well-laid monitoring system will also help in effectively analyzing the process of the implementation, hence ensuring its success (Lasserre, 2017). Proper communication skills will also make sure that the firm’s plans are well implemented. Finally, having an accurate financial estimation will also be critical in the successful implementation of a firm’s strategic plan.
