1- What do you recommend our culture do in an effort to embrace diversity and the immigration process?
2- What changes should the criminal justice system make in order to ensure Due Process under the Law for all?
3- What support can be given to rebuild the relationships between the community and the police?
Embracing Diversity
Acknowledging multicultural collaboration is an appropriate way of recognizing diversity and immigration strategies. Multicultural collaboration involves two or numerous groups of institutions, each having members from diverse cultural backgrounds and orientations; for instance, Latino and whites. This collaboration needs planning and determination to confront old attitudes in modern ways by pulling the partners engaged. The second attempt is through faculty diversity because it is significant to enhance the number of minority administrators, learners, and faculty to reflect American diversity society (Williamson, 2015). Immigrants who escalate diversity should also be allowed into American as a way of embracing diversity.
Ensuring Due Process
The due process consists of a community’s primary notions of legal fairness. A first reading of the due process clauses of the 5th and 14th amendments stops the government from taking an individual’s property, liberty, or life without the law’s due process. The criminal justice system should follow all the laws, including equal protection for all classes of people (Mangan, 2019). Every citizen has the right to be heard, due process may engage a hearing before an impartial individual, representation by an attorney, and written decision with reasons centered on the evidence presented. These are essential considerations, which the justice system must uphold.
Rebuilding Community-Police Relationship
A healthy relationship of mutual trust between police agencies and their societies is essential for keeping public safety and effective policing. One way of increasing this relationship is through volunteering in the communal activities (Hodges, 2019). People who volunteer are dynamic in societies and are useful in preaching the fact about the police occupation. Being a community servant ought not to halt when they take the uniform off; therefore, volunteering makes the police attached to the public they are policing. Police officers should also interrelate with people in non-enforcement circumstances.
